The idea for "Voices of Peace for Gaza" was born within the Nicola Zabaglia School of Arts and Crafts in Rome. Several teachers from the Illustration and Publishing, Mosaic, Plastic Arts, History of Art, and Painting Techniques courses, along with three former students from the Engraving and Illustration and Publishing courses, exhibited several works on the theme, pairing each work with a verse from some of the Palestinian poems collected in the book published by Fazi Editore under the title "Their Cry is My Voice."
The Artists and Curators | In early May 2024, discussions on the theme began among some of the teachers who attend the school on Tuesdays for the Illustration and Publishing, Ceramics, Mosaic, Plastic Arts, and Art History subjects: Rossella Canuti, Gabriella D'Anna, Simona de Caro, Cristiana Maria Pompei, Claudio Valenti, and Laura Mocci; Three students also participated in the project: Costanza Mongini (Costansia), Maria Tereza Rizzuti, and Erica Silvestri.
The Works and the Exhibition
Images, Verses, and Phrases of Peace | To create a single visual-poetic flow, sixteen works were selected and presented in fixed-size prints (50x50 cm and 70x50 cm), each associated with some of the verses of the poems from the book Their Cry Is My Voice.
The exhibition is a journey through the pages of a book and, at the same time, through the "manifesto-images" and phrases of peace. The works on display are alternated with ten panels featuring phrases of criticism, despair, and hope for peace, expressed by people with diverse opinions but all oriented toward dialogue and an end to conflict. Words by Augusto Paolo Lojodice, Daniel Barenboim, Movi Ovadia, Ilan Pappé, Alhassan Selmi, and Michelangelo Pistoletto. The exhibition was already on display at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in late November and early December 2025.
During the event on April 24, 2026, held in the council chamber of Municipio III, several poems from the book "Il loro Grido è la mia Voce" will be read. A portion of the cover price (€12) will go to Emergency for its humanitarian assistance work in the Gaza Strip. Event organization by Eco dell'Arte Associazione ETS
