Fabrizio Marzilli is curator of the Cultural Association "Lavatoio Contumaciale", where he is responsible for the management and organisation of exhibitions centred on the dialogue between art and architecture. He trained as an architect, holding both a degree and a doctorate in the field. During his university years he developed a particular sensitivity towards the visual arts, weaving together architectural research and artistic practice.
His curatorial research proceeds from the idea that art and architecture are not separate disciplines but languages capable of nourishing one another, generating spaces for critical reflection and new possibilities of imagination. In the projects he oversees, he favours exhibition devices that hold memory and the contemporary, disciplinary rigour and poetic freedom, in productive tension. The aim is to offer audiences experiences that go beyond aesthetic appreciation, opening onto a broader dialogue on the meaning of space, time and community.
