Mario Ceroli. Where flight begins

La Nuvola Art Gallery is hosting an installation by Mario Ceroli which, through a blend of form and material, explores the concept of flight in wood, offering a renewed vision of Peace.

On the occasion of The Rome Art Week (RAW) for the Peace, Alice Falsaperla's hosting at La Nuvola Art Gallery, on Friday 24th April 2026, in collaboration with the Mario Ceroli Archieve, a unique artwork by the Master of the 1970s.

This amazing piece, crafted from Russian pine and now occupying the center of the Gallery, belongs to a pivotal phase of the artist's work, where essential form becomes a recognizable vehicle for universal contours and shared meanings. It is an exploration of Peace, undertaken in 1969 in Paris with the Project for Peace and War, a monumental installation also recently exhibited at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GNAMC) in Rome, as part of the retrospective "Ceroli Totale", where the Master staged a crowd effect with 372 white flags, fighting for the just cause of a bygone era.

Ceroli's artwork, selected for the event, reflects on the concept of "flight" beginning with its composition, where a succession of wings unfolds in a shared dance. In keeping with the artist's stylistic signature, concave silhouettes follow one another in a ethereal synthesis, rich in symbolic meaning. Thes movement suggests a sense of openness and freedom, evoking a sacred metaphor, where "the creature of the sky and the sea" becomes another space of connection.

The lightness of the forms and the interconnection of their modules, contained within a box-like frame, serve here as an installation, evoking a harmony that extends through time.

Through this significant artwork by Ceroli, La Nuvola Gallery aims to convey a concept of peace that is renewed through art.
