INVOLUCRO by Monica Argentino (Rome, Italy)

Short film that has the gender equality as its theme.

Involucro, describes the conflicts of a Drag Queen, man and heterosexual who, in a society like ours stigmatized according to certain roles and conformed canons, explores the difficult expression of individual freedom of choice and self-determination of his/her own body.

By leaving room for images, through visual language, we want to familiarize and legitimize the connotation of the individual as such, with its own value and recognition without distinction of class, gender, color and sexual orientation.

The protagonist, going through changes of clothes, make-up, body expressions and moods, proves to be himself, in the uniqueness of a Human Being.

CONSIDERATIONS OF THE ARTIST IN RELATION TO THE CURRENT HISTORICAL MOMENT:

With the arrival of the Covid 19 pandemic, we have rediscovered the need to look at our life from a different perspective, from a broader point of view, so that we can finally see the interconnection of all existing things.

We have noticed the ripple effects of each action on an entire chain of beings and the impact of our actions on our surrounding environment.

In conclusion, we are aware that every human being is linked to the other and that to protect our survival we must support each other, without prevarication in the name of solidarity and equality.
