Helia Hamedani
Helia Hamedani is an art historian(PhD) and curator based in Rome and Tehran. Her practice focuses on intercultural contexts, combining research, writing, teaching, and curatorial project development.

Hamedani primarily collaborates with nonprofit cultural associations, alongside working with public museums and institutions, including Il Mattatoio (Macro Testaccio), MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Arts, MLAC – Museum Laboratory of Contemporary Art in Rome, as well as the Iranian Artists Forum and the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMOCA).

After completing a degree in Industrial Design in Iran, she continued her academic studies at Sapienza University of Rome, where she completed her BA, MA, and PhD in Contemporary Art History. Her doctoral research examined the work and thought of Ruyin Pakbaz, with the aim of analyzing the development of Iranian art historiography over the past sixty years.

She writes on contemporary visual arts in Farsi, Italian, and English, and has held seminars and workshops in Italy, Iran, France, Germany, and Singapore.
